The Account Executive Position

Account Executives are responsible for meeting with existing or prospective clients that have responded to one of many J.D. Mellberg advertisements. MWM’s target market are clients near or already in retirement and looking for a change in their retirement planning. The purpose of this initial appointment is to build strong rapport and establish the trust needed to gather key financial information in order to develop a solution plan for the client. Our AE’s are the first point of contact between the company and the client – meaning, this is a crucial step in our selling process! As an AE, you will identify present opportunities and determine the need for a follow-up appointment set for your Account Advisor.
The purpose of the follow-up appointment is for the advisor to present and close the client on the solution plan that best meets the client’s needs (ex: annuities, life insurance, etc.). Even though you are not selling our products quite yet, it is your responsibility to “sell” this process to the client. As an AE, you will be encouraged to join and participate in the advisor’s sales presentation during follow-up appointments. By shadowing your advisor, you will quickly learn effective sales skills and how to develop opportunities to help clients with their retirement needs.
The Account Executive position is designed to prepare you for several promotions based on your performance and eagerness to move to the next position in our Elite Certification Program. The second position is the Certified Field Trainer role – this is where you will continue your AE responsibilities, but will also have the opportunity to train new AE’s in your market. Promotion to the Senior Account Executive position is based upon performance and your ability to gain an insurance license. MWM encourages and reimburses its employees for this license exam. As a Senior Account Executive, you will now have the opportunity to sell certain product opportunities yourself – this is where you’ll earn a base salary plus commission. At this point in our career development program, you will have met with more clients and have seen more sales presentations than most agents experience in years of trial and error!
After successful performance and the ability to gain your investment advisor credential (Series 65), you will now be ready to become a financial advisor. Our Account Advisors are experienced leaders who demonstrate exceptional selling skills, a deep knowledge of our products, a passion for helping our clients and are able to effectively train and mentor AE’s. The Elite Certification Program is designed to advance AE’s to the financial advisor position in as little as two years, based on successful performance.
